So Grimalkin, distributor of Xiaomi products in the Philippines, has shared the brand’s product brochure for July-August 2020 this morning.

(Update, June 29: We have a launch date! Read Redmi 9A, Redmi 9C budget phones launching June 30.)

And guess what we think is the most interesting information we found: There is indeed a Xiaomi Redmi 9A, and it will be available in the Philippines soon.

The yet-to-be-launched smartphone can be found on page 2 of the catalog we embedded below, complete with its key specs. Apparently, the Redmi 9A is powered by a MediaTek Helio G25, an octa-core chip that has not been announced as well.

The HD+ screen of the Redmi 9A measures 6.53 inches and has a waterdrop notch at the top for the 5-megapixel selfie camera. The back holds a lone 13-megapixel shooter placed on a vertical strip that runs from the bottom to nearly the topmost part of the panel. The design, it seems, is similar to the Redmi 8A. Unless the one in the brochure is just a placeholder.

Keeping the lights on is a 5,000mAh battery, which should keep you from charging often.

The Redmi 9A, whose model number is supposedly M2006C3LC, has already been spotted on the respective sites of certification authorities Compulsory Certification of China or 3C and U.S. Federal Communications Commission or FCC. So it should go official at any time soon.

Expect the smartphone to be cheaper than the Redmi 9, which is priced from P6,990 (around $140) in the Philippines. We’ve already unboxed the Redmi 9, by the way — check out the video below! Our review of the handset should be up in the coming days.
