POCO F2 Pro Philippine launch set for June 15

Now, it can be said: POCO’s new smartphone is indeed coming to the Philippines, almost two years after Xiaomi announced the Pocophone F1.

Launched May 12 globally, the POCO F2 Pro is confirmed to be officially unveiled in the country June 15. We wonder how much it will be sold here. In Europe, the prices of its two memory configurations are as follows:

6GB/128GB: €499 (around P27,160 or $542)
8GB/256GB: €599 (P32,604 or $651)

Consumer-electronics goods are more expensive in Europe, so we’re expecting the POCO F2 Pro to be cheaper in the Philippines.

A rebranded Redmi K30 Pro, the POCO F2 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip with support for 5G. Whether its 5G function will work in the country is another matter, though.

Remember that 5G devices like the OPPO Find X2 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra are already retailing here, but they’re not compatible with the 5G network that’s available in the Philippines. Only Huawei phones such as the Nova 7 SE are. Hopefully, this POCO is, at least for future-proofing. But if you don’t care about that, then you should check out this model.

Other features of the F2 Pro include a battery that’s rated at 4,700mAh and has support for 30-watt fast charging; liquid cooling; a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with Widevine L1 certification and HDR10+ support; a 64-megapixel rear quad camera; a 20-megapixel pop-up selfie shooter; and POCO Launcher 2.0 on top of Android 10.
