According to Gizmochina, its source said that the Redmi 9 base model — one that pairs 3GB of RAM with 32GB of storage — will cost $139.99. That’s around P6,974 in Philippine pesos. The 4GB/64GB version, on the other hand, will be priced at $149.99 (P7,473).
Allegedly, the budget phone will be available in three colors at launch: Grey, Green, and Sunset Purple. The retail box, snapped by the site’s source, shows as much. Pictures of the latter two color variants were leaked on Chinese social media platform Weibo yesterday, June 4.
The images reveal that the Redmi 9 features four cameras on the back, with module, placed vertically, showing a physical fingerprint sensor. The system is headlined by a 13-megapixel shooter and should be joined by sensors with 8, 5, and 2 megapixels. Interestingly, the housing is similar to that of the Redmi K30. It’s not glossy, however.
The handset is said to come with a MediaTek Helio G80 processor, a 6.53-inch FHD+ LCD screen, and a 5,000mAh battery. Its launch is is expected to happen this June. Even a supplier that emailed us at Revü claims that the Redmi 9 will debut this month. Stay tuned.
