Antutu has just published the rankings of the best-performing midrange and flagship Android phones for the month of May. To be clear, these are for devices released in China; we’re still awaiting the global lists.
Guess which handsets came out ahead of the pack? All OPPO smartphones.
The OPPO Reno 3 5G and OPPO Find X2 Pro were No. 1 in their respective categories, with the Reno notching a score of 403,607 and the Find getting a whopping 604,123 rating. Take note that the Reno 3 that’s available in China is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1000L chip, not Helio P90, which is found inside the global version — or the one that’s being sold in the Philippines.
Top 10 for midrange smartphones
Right behind the OPPO Reno 3 5G are devices with newly announced chipsets. The Honor 30 and Huawei Nova 7 use Kirin 985 while the Honor 30S, Honor X10, and Huawei Nova 7 SE rely on the Kirin 820. The Nova 7 SE, by the way, is already tipped to launch in the Philippines this June 12. We still don’t know if the other models in the series are coming here, too.
Landing seventh place is another OPPO phone: the OPPO Reno 3 Pro 5G with Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, not the Helio P95 seen in the handset’s international variant.
Rounding out the top 10 are the Vivo S6 5G and Vivo X30 5G with Exynos 980 and Xiaomi’s Redmi K30 5G with Snapdragon 765G.
Top 10 for flagship smartphones
All the Android flagships that made it to the list are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865. That’s how dominant the chipset is — at least in benchmarking tool Antutu.
The regular OPPO Find X2 came out second — again. The series have dominated the ranking for premium devices since their release.
Another OPPO unit was included on the list; the OPPO Ace 2 snagged the fourth spot with a score of 598,547. The said model recently got a special version: the OPPO Ace 2 EVA Limited Edition.
In third place is the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, and the improvement of its score is being credited to the release of MIUI 12. The Vivo iQOO Neo 3, Redmi K30 Pro, Vivo iQOO 3, Realme X50 Pro 5G, OnePlus 8 Pro, and Vivo NEX 3S 5G completed the list.
