It’s been a while since we’ve heard from POCO Global. The Pocophone F1, the first and only Pocophone model Xiaomi released internationally, was launched in 2018. Heck, it’s also been a while since POCO became an independent brand in India.

These posts suggest that a new Pocophone unit will be announced for the international market soon. Could it be the Pocophone F2 Pro (or POCO F2 Pro)?
Take note that the said model was recently spotted on Google Play’s list of supported devices. Unfortunately, it seems like it will just be a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro, a smartphone that was launched in China in March. That’s not to say we don’t like the Redmi handset; it’s just that we would have wanted an entirely new device from POCO.
For those of you who who can’t remember the specs of the K30 Pro, refer to the image we shared when the phone debuted in Xiaomi’s home country.
A new leak reveals that the Pocophone F2 Pro has been certified in Indonesia as a 4G-only smartphone, unlike the variant released in China. It’s possible that countries where 5G is not readily available yet will get the 4G version to keep the price low. Markets like the Philippines perhaps?
Europe seems to be getting the 5G model, based on the leaked pricing. According to reports, the 6GB/128GB Pocophone F2 Pro will cost €649 (around P36,412 or $720). The one with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, on the other hand, will be sold for €749 (P42,023 or $831).
We’re sure to hear more from POCO Global soon, so stay tuned.
