As expected, Xiaomi has announced the Mi 10 Youth Edition 5G in China as one of the few phones that support fast 5G data in the country. The handset also launched as the first Xiaomi device to ship with the company’s new MIUI 12 software update.

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition 5G is sold in other markets as the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G. It has five variants, and the choice of colors includes black, blue, green, orange, and peach. Four configurations will be available in China at launch, and these are their respective prices:

• 6GB RAM + 64GB storage for ¥2,099 (around P15,048 or $296)
• 6GB RAM + 128GB storage for ¥2,299 (P16,481 or $325)
• 8GB RAM + 128GB storage for ¥2,499 (P17,915 or $353)
• 8GB RAM + 256GB storage for ¥2,799 (P20,066 or $395)

One of the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition 5G’s biggest attractions is its quad-lens setup on the back, which features a 48-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel zoom camera with a folded-periscope lens that allows 5x optical zoom and up to 50x digital zoom.

There’s also an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter on the rear, as well as a 2-megapixel sensor for macro shots. The sensors are housed in a rectangular module that has become quite popular among smartphone OEMs.

In front, the unit sports a 6.57-inch AMOLED screen with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels and a touch-sampling rate of 180Hz. It also supports HDR10+ for greater dynamic range when streaming video. The front-facing camera in the waterdrop notch boasts 16 megapixels.

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition 5G runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset with an integrated 5G modem on a 4,060mAh battery that can recharge quickly.
