Are we going to see a “Lite” version of Realme‘s first 5G-enabled smartphones soon?

Looks like it. A device with model number RMX2052 — long believed to be the Realme X50 Youth Edition 5G — has been spotted on China’s 3C certification site. The same unit was earlier certified by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology or MIIT. This suggests that the device’s launch is just around the corner.

The listing doesn’t reveal much except that the Realme X50 Youth Edition 5G supports 30-watt fast charging, same as the regular Realme X50 5G that we reviewed in February.

However, past leaks reveal that the handset is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1000, and the said chip is mated to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage.

Rumors say the Youth model features four cameras on the back, where a 16-megapixel main sensor is paired with 8-megapixel ultra-wide, 2-megapixel macro, and 2-megapixel depth shooters. The selfie camera, on the other hand, is supposedly 32 megapixels.

The screen is said to measure 6.55 inches and has a refresh rate of 60Hz. Other stuff to expect include a 5,000mAh battery and Android 10-based Realme UI out of the box.

In China, the Realme X50 5G is priced starting at ¥2,499 (around P17,968 or $353) while in Europe, where prices are higher, the more premium Realme X50 Pro 5G‘s base model costs €599 (P33,014 or $649). That’s value for money, we tell you, so we can’t wait to see how much the Realme X50 Youth Edition 5G will be — and if it’s ever going to be released in the Philippines.
