There’s a new member of Xiaomi‘s Redmi 8 series. We don’t know if it’s coming to markets like the Philippines, but it’s official now in Indonesia.
The Redmi 8A Pro has been launched with a starting price of Rp1,549,000 (around P4,741 or $93). That’s for the model with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. The 3GB/32GB version, on the other hand, sells for Rp1,649,000 (P5,046 or $99).

Take note that in the Philippines, the most expensive Redmi 8 variant — one with a 4GB/64GB memory configuration — cost P6,990 ($137) at launch. If the Redmi 8A Pro arrives in the country, it will probably initially retail at around that price.
What’s the difference between the Redmi 8A Pro, Redmi 8, and Redmi 8A?
Not much, actually. The Redmi 8A Pro now comes in a different design. Think matte rear panel with micro-texture — none of that glossy back anymore.
The color variants are different this time; it’s white, gray, and blue, and there are no black and red units. And there’s a 13-megapixel — not 12-megapixel — main camera paired with a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
