When you say “food-delivery services,” we think of Foodpanda, GrabFood, LalaFood, and the likes. Angkas? The first thing that comes to mind is its Twitter account, which is known to dish out funny, quick-witted posts.
But just a few hours ago, the motorcycle ride-hailing platform has launched Angkas Food amid the suspension of passenger services due to the lockdown related to the coronavirus-disease outbreak.
According to Angkas, it’s a way for them to help their bikers earn and those of us who are quarantined to have food delivered at home. The company will not — we repeat: WILL NOT — earn money from the service. All commissions earned from the initiative will go to the biker.
What do you need to do to avail yourself of the service where Angkas operates? Just follow these steps:
- Call any of Angkas Food’s partner restaurants, a list of which plus the respective menus and contact numbers can be seen here. Participating establishments include Ineng’s Special BBQ and Pomodoro. Please take note that the service is available from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every day.
- Pay the restaurant already, if you can. While cash on delivery or COD is possible, it’s still advisable to use cashless-payment options. Please coordinate with the resto for this. Leave you contact details with the establishment.
- Meet the biker to get your order, but please observe Angkas Food’s no-touch-interaction policy. The person will put your food on the seat of his or her motorcycle or your doorstep and move back to a safe distance before you get your order. In case you live in a condo, you have to meet the biker at the lobby or at the designated delivery area. Same policy applies.
- Pay for your food (in case you selected COD), the delivery fee (cash only and costs P60 or $1.18 for every 3km, with an additional P10 or $0.20 for each kilometer up to 5km), and the parking fee (if any).
That’s it. This is one way for you to help people whose livelihoods have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Stay safe!
Guys legit to, gumawa kami ng food delivery service oha. But this isn't for us. Para to sa mga bikers at sa inyo. We will NOT take any commission in this initiative. Sa kanila lahat to.
