So our guess was spot-on. The Redmi smartphone that Xiaomi global vice president and Xiaomi India managing director Manu Kumar Jain teased a month ago was the Redmi Note 9.

Redmi Note 9 launch teaser
It’s not clear if the Redmi Note 9 Pro will be unveiled alongside the regular model — assuming there is a Pro variant. But reports suggest that the MediaTek Helio G70-powered Redmi 9 could be launched on the 12th, too.
The Redmi Note 9 comes from a bestselling line. The Redmi Note 8 series went on to smash records, selling 10 million units in a mere three months. Last week, market-research firm Canalys revealed that Xiaomi was one of only three smartphone brands whose products made it to the lists of bestselling devices from October to December 2019 and in full year 2019.
Not much is known about the Redmi Note 9. However, rumors say the smartphone will have four cameras on the back, with the primary sensor getting a 64-megapixel count. That’s about it, though, so we’re leaving the specs of its predecessor here for now. The Note 9 will of course be more powerful than the Note 8.
