We reported in October that the Samsung Galaxy Fold will make its way to the Philippines. And now we know how much the foldable phone costs at local retail.
The Galaxy Fold will be offered to Globe Telecom customers with an eye-watering price tag of P109,990, which translates to roughly $2,168. Or, you know, two Apple iPhone 11 units. Ouch.

This is expected, of course, because folding screens are expensive and that new form factor is much more complex than your average smartphone. Not to mention, the Galaxy Fold is one of the most-specced-out devices on the market today, with five cameras in total and a secondary touchscreen for basic tasks.

For the price, you’ll receive a slim cover and a Samsung Galaxy Buds included in the retail box. You also get Samsung’s Concierge VIP customer care service with a dedicated hotline, along with one year’s Samsung Care Plus insurance for extended warranty coverage and added peace of mind.
That’s important because the Samsung’s foldable phone is actually quite fragile despite its chunky body. In fact, Samsung had to postpone its global release after early reviewers reported broken screens within days of use.
