Weeks after opening registrations for the 4G versions of the Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro in the Philippines, Huawei has revealed local pricing for its latest flagship smartphones. For obvious reasons, the 5G Mate 30 variants won’t be released here.

So, how much do they cost? The Huawei Mate 30 will retail at P34,990, or around $683 converted. The top-end Mate 30 Pro, on the other hand, will sell for P50,990 ($996) in the country.

Preorders begin October 28, according to the company’s official social media page. Huawei’s local pricing is not only reasonable, but also lower than the prices we saw in Germany where the handsets made their global debut.

And knowing Huawei, we can expect a nice set of freebies waiting for those who purchase the phones early. We hope it will include a DJI Osmo Mobile 3 phone gimbal, which pairs well with the Mate 30 Pro’s highest-rated (per DxOMark numbers) quad-camera system.

Both the Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro feature gorgeous, fingerprint-sensing OLED screens and the latest Kirin 990 chipset with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. They also run EMUI 10 based on Android 10 and pack big batteries with 40-watt wired charging via USB-C, 27-watt wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging onboard.

As for the rear cameras, the regular Mate 30 sports a 40-megapixel, f/1.8 camera and 16 and 8 megapixels on the ultra-wide and telephoto shooters, respectively. The selfie camera in the dewdrop notch is 24 megapixels.

The Mate 30 Pro, on the other hand, upgrades to two 40-megapixel sensors with standard and ultra-wide focal lengths. The third camera has a telephoto lens and packs 8 megapixels, while the fourth is a 3D time-of-flight or TOF sensor for AR and blur effects.

In front, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro has been outfitted with a 32-megapixel selfie camera and a 3D TOF sensor to make face unlock more secure and accurate.
