A new batch of OPPO Reno models is launching August 28 in India. At least three smartphones will go official on that day — the OPPO Reno 2, Reno 2Z, and Reno 2F.

How are the three devices different from each other? Thankfully, more details have surfaced recently. Let’s just hope everything that’s stated in the leaked document below — cut into different parts — is correct. Take note that some of them have already been revealed by OPPO itself.

Design and specs part

The standard OPPO Reno 2 is reportedly the top-end variant, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G powering the phone. The processor is mated to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

It retains the shark-fin front-camera design of the OPPO Reno and Reno 10x Zoom Edition. You have already seen it, actually; it’s the handset that’s featured in the company’s video teaser.

OPPO Reno 2 series launch teaser

The other two, on the other hand, are said to get the centered pop-up camera of the OPPO F11 Pro. But while the Reno 2Z has MediaTek Helio P90 inside, the Reno 2F relies on Helio P70 — the same chip that’s in the F11 series.

The 2Z has the same memory configuration as the Reno 2. The 2F, being the most affordable of the trio, pairs 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage.

Camera part

The OPPO Reno 2 and Reno 2Z is fitted with Sony’s 48-megapixel IMX586 sensor. The Reno 2F’s main sensor has 48 megapixels as well, although it’s the Bright GM1 unit of Samsung.

Clearly, if you’re into mobile photography and videography and you’ll only choose from among the three, then don’t scrimp and just go for the Reno 2. Digital-zoom capability is higher at 20x; you can shoot at 60 frames per second; there’s optical image stabilization in addition to electronic IS… It has the best camera system, bar none.

Now, the question is, how much will they cost, assuming OPPO Philippines will bring them here? We won’t expect low price tags, considering that the regular OPPO Reno and the 10x Zoom Edition were sold for P26,990 (around $524) and P45,990 ($893) at launch, respectively.
