Just a little over a month ago, Xiaomi launched the Mi 9T, the global variant of the Redmi K20, here in the Philippines. The device is a very strong contender in the upper-midrange market, yet it’s still no match for its Pro cousin.

According to reliable tipster Roland Quandt, Xiaomi will soon be launching its top-of-the-line Mi 9T Pro in Europe and Malaysia. The tip was then confirmed when a page for the Mi 9T Pro went live on a Dutch retailer’s website. The listing highlights some of the features of the device, as well as possible pricing.

If the page is accurate, the 64GB variant of the Mi 9T Pro will retail for €429 (approximately P25,000 or $480), while pricing for the 128GB version is listed at €479 (P28,000 or $536). Of course, official prices in the Philippines might come out lower due to higher duties and taxes in Europe.

The specs of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro is identical to the Redmi K20 Pro’s. Both run on a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and sport similar camera setups. While the Redmi K20 Pro uses the newer Sony IMX586 as its primary sensor, the Mi 9T Pro is expected to utilize the same Sony IMX582 from the Mi 9T.

The two phones boast a 48-megapixel resolution, but the IMX586 sensor on the Redmi K20 Pro can record 4K videos at 60 frames per second, whereas the IMX582 on the Mi 9T can only capture 30 fps in 4K. It may come out as a bit of a step back to some users. But, hey, who really shoots 4K at 60 fps with a smartphone?

Both also share the same 13-megaixel, f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle camera and an 8-megapixel f/2.4 telephoto cam offering 2x optical zoom, to complete their triple-camera set.

There is still no date for the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro’s Philippine launch at the moment. Here’s hoping we hear something soon.
