Specs of Huawei Nova 5i Pro, aka Mate 30 Lite, leak out

The Huawei Nova 5i Pro, also rumored to be the Huawei Mate 30 Lite in some markets, was a no-show at the Nova 5 series launch event held in China last month.

The said schematic diagram of the phone was leaked soon afterward, though, which may or may not prove its existence. But, to be clear, Huawei has yet to make it official in any country, including its native China.

That may soon change, as supposed promotional slides for the Huawei Nova 5i Pro have surfaced online, detailing the phone’s key specs, as well as the color options that will be available at launch.

The device, which is tipped to launch first in Aurora, Emerald, and Midnight Black colors, doesn’t have a price yet, but based on what we now know, it should be priced much higher than the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019, which currently sells for P12,990 (about $255) in the Philippines.

According to the leak, the Nova 5i Pro will feature a 6.26-inch, 1080p screen with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display doesn’t have a notch; instead, it has a hole-punch design to accommodate a 32-megapixel selfie camera and push the screen-to-body ratio beyond 90%. It doesn’t have a fingerprint reader embedded into it, too.

It gets more interesting around the back, where the quad-lens camera setup sits above a capacitive fingerprint sensor. The main camera is 48 megapixels, the wide-angle one is 8 megapixels, and the macro shooter and depth sensor are both 2 megapixels. With the front-facing camera added to the count, the smartphone will have a total of five cameras in tow. Quite impressive for a non-flagship device.

Inside, the Huawei Nova 5i Pro will be powered by the latest Kirin 810 chipset clubbed with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. Additionally, there’s a 4,000mAh battery backup that supports 20-watt fast charging, which can charge it to 50% in 30 minutes, or 100% in about an hour and a half.
