The sub-brand iQOO was established by Vivo to focus on the mobile-gaming market. Announced in February, it now has three smartphones under its belt: the iQOO, the iQOO 5G, and the recently launched iQOO Neo.

While the first two devices aim for the top-end market, the latter sits squarely in the midrange. It’s fitted with Snapdragon 845, the same 2018 flagship chip from Qualcomm that’s inside the Pocophone F1.
So we got curious: How do the Vivo iQOO Neo and the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 compare, considering that the two phones are also aggressively priced? Take note that the new iQOO comes with the following price tags in China:
- 6GB/64GB: ¥1,798 (around P13,371 or $262)
- 6GB/128GB: ¥1,998 (P14,856 or $291)
- 8GB/64GB: ¥2,098 (P15,599 or $305)
- 8GB/128GB: ¥2,298 (P17,086 or $334)
The Pocophone, on the other hand, is now retailing in the Philippines at the following prices:
- 6GB/64GB: P14,490 ($284), down from P17,990 ($352)
- 6GB/128GB: P15,490 ($303), down from P19,990 ($391)

At a glance, you can already see that the Vivo iQOO Neo trumps the Pocophone F1 in almost all aspects, from the screen to the battery. The only areas where the latter wins — at least on paper — are in the storage (it’s expandable) and front-camera departments.
Design-wise, we also give brownie points to the iQOO Neo. In fairness to the Pocophone, though, it was launched in the Philippines in September last year. We believe time has allowed iQOO to take advantage of the technologies and design trends that we have these days. Even the chip should be cheaper now, too.

What’s more, the Pocophone F1 is officially available in the country, so if warranty is important for you — as it should be — then there’s no question about which to pick. The landscape could significantly change if and when Vivo brings the iQOO Neo to our shores, though. But will the company do it? Only time will tell.
