In June 2018, Huawei president for consumer business group Jim Xu told us at Revü that they will be offering their laptops in the Philippines by end of that year. That didn’t happen. Well, it looks like the plan is finally pushing through this 2019.
Two sources who are familiar with Huawei’s local plans informed us on separate occasions that they will start selling their

They said they can’t elaborate on the information just yet, but added that the products will be on display in select Huawei stores.
This led us to visit three of the company’s shops in the southern part of Metro Manila. All confirmed that the

MateBook will be launched as early as April; and - that at least two models will be initially available, and one of them is the Huawei
MateBook 13.

The Intel Core i5 (Whiskey Lake) Mystic Silver base model — the one without the discrete GPU — is priced at $999 (around P52,787). The Intel Core i7 Space Gray variant with Nvidia GeForce MX graphics 150, on the other hand, retails at $1,299 (P68,639).
