The Huawei P30 series has been confirmed to launch March 26th in Paris, France. But the company’s mainstream flagship might not be the only phone to look forward to in the coming weeks.

Today, at an event in China, Huawei formally took the wraps off the Huawei Nova 4e, which is rumored to launch as the P30 Lite in Europe and other markets. It is widely expected that the phone is close to an international release. Last year’s Nova 3e debuted as the P20 Lite in European countries. It arrived a year ago.

The Nova 4e is now available for preorder in its home country, where the model with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at ¥1,999 (about P15,647 or $297 converted)and the 6GB/128GB variant will run you ¥2,299 (P17,995 or $342). Shipping begins March 28th. Your color options are white, black, and blue with a gradient finish.

The device adopts the design language of recent Huawei phones, sporting a curved back with a vertical camera array on the upper-left side and a teardrop-style notch on the front. The rear-facing module has three cameras, earning it an upgrade from two on the Nova 3e or P20 Lite.

Included in the mix are a 24-megapixel camera with a normal focal length, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor for bokeh.

As expected, the Huawei Nova 4e’s triple setup employs artificial intelligence or AI to take better pictures in various conditions. A 32-megapixel front camera takes care of selfies. Besides being used for face unlock, it’s said to be capable of snapping bright photos even in dim lighting.

The 2,312 x 1,080 screen is LCD and measures 6.15 inches diagonally, while on the inside, the Nova 4e sees a Kirin 710 chipset running the show with support for  GPU Turbo 2.0 for smoother gaming experiences. Other specs include a fingerprint scanner, a fast-charging 3,240mAh battery, and EMUI 9.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie.
