Huawei Mate 20 series smartphones have topped Antutu Benchmark rankings since their availability in October 2018. Until February 2019, that is.

According to Antutu’s just-released global list, two Android handsets dislodged Huawei’s flagship devices last month. Leading the ranking was the Exynos 9820-powered Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, which garnered an average benchmark score of 332,850. Not far behind was the Honor V20, known internationally as the Honor View 20, with a rating of 305,599.

The Huawei Mate 20 X and Mate 20 had to settle for third and fourth places with their respective 304,588 and 302,985 points.

Rounding out the top five was the Honor Magic 2 slider phone. It debuted in October last year and recently got a 3D version, complete with graphene-based cooling; a bigger, 512GB of storage; and support for 3D face unlock.

The Android phones that took the second to fifth spots are powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 980 chipset, which is manufactured on a 7-nanometer process node and has a clock speed of up to 2.8GHz.

The rest of the units that were part of the top 10 are all powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor — Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S, OnePlus 6, ASUS ROG Phone, and Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi MIX 3.

Of the 10 Android models, only three are not being sold in the Philippines. We’re talking about Huawei’s gaming phone — the Mate 20 X — and Honor’s View 20 and Magic 2.

Snapdragon 855 devices are expected to flood the global market soon, so we won’t be surprised if the Exynos version of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus drops off the No. 1 spot on Antutu’s March 2019 list.

Remember that the benchmark scores shared by Antutu on Weibo in December showed the Snapdragon 855 posting higher numbers across the board than the Exynos 9820 and Kirin 980. At the time, it established its dominance with an overall score of 343,051 points.
