The local budget smartphone market just got a little more crowded with the release of a new OPPO variant. The OPPO A7, which was launched in the Philippines back in November, now has a cheaper configuration in the country.
The OPPO A7 with 3GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage costs P10,990 (about $212 converted) locally, while the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version stays fixed at P13,990 ($270), the same price tag it had at launch.
Less RAM, more budget-friendly
While having less memory can make a difference in your day-to-day experience, the price gap between the two models is hard to ignore, especially in this category. If you ask us, based on other phones we’ve tried with a similar setup, 3GB of RAM already allows for decent multitasking and gaming.

The rest of this OPPO A7’s internals stay the same, meaning it still boasts a 6.2-inch HD screen with a tiny notch, 13- and 2-megapixel dual cameras on the back, a 16-megapixel front-facing camera, a 4,230mAh battery, and octa-core processing power courtesy of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450. Further, the A7 comes with a physical fingerprint sensor and face unlock via the selfie camera. It runs ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
