After making its debut overseas, the Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 is now available in the Philippines through a Globe Telecom data plan.
(Update, February 13: The phone’s retail price has been revealed! See Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 retail price, availability in PH.)
Globe is the first to make the Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 available in the country, offering it for as low as P999 (about $19) per month under the carrier’s ThePlan 999, without any initial payment for the phone itself.
ThePlan 999 gets you 4GB of data monthly plus unlimited calls and text messages to other Globe subscribers. Also included in the offer is a six-month subscription to Amazon Prime Video and DisneyLife, plus three months of Spotify Premium with a 1GB data allocation that resets every month.
On the outside, the Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 features a dewdrop notch at the top, similar to that of the Mate 20. It also has dual cameras lined up vertically on the back, with 13- and 2-megapixel sensors for portrait-style images. The notch area is where the 16-megapixel, f/2.0 selfie camera is located.

Interestingly, this device runs Android Oreo-based EMUI 8.2 on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, as opposed to a Huawei-made Kirin spec. The processor is mated to 3GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. The battery is rated at 4,000mAh, which bodes well for battery-life figures.
The Huawei Y7 Pro 2019 doesn’t appear on Smart Communications’ online store nor is it on any local retail website.
