There’s no shortage of Xiaomi news these days. One of the biggest is that its budget-phone lineup, Redmi, is now operating independently. And come January 10, we’ll be seeing its first product as a separate brand — one that boasts a 48-megapixel main camera.

Today, that said smartphone appears to have been approved by China’s certification body, as a device with model number M1901F7T is now on TENAA’s site.
We don’t even know what it’s going to be called. Redmi 7 or Redmi Pro 2 perhaps? Beats us, but our guess is the latter, considering that the original is all about the cameras, being the first Redmi phone to have two sensors on the back.
There’s not much that you can glean from the listing above. It says the handset comes with a 6.3-inch screen, a 3,900mAh battery, and dimensions of 159.21 x 75.21 x 8.1mm — not much else.

You can also see that this time, the images that accompany the listing are those of a gradient version. The rest of the design? Same as the one that appeared in December — front panel with a waterdrop-styled notch and a rear panel that reminds us of the Huawei P20 Pro.
Word has it that that the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 because the chip can support a phone with a 48-megapixel camera. Let’s see in less than a week’s time, shall we?
