Honor 10 Lite launching in the Philippines soon

A new Honor phone is going to be released in the Philippines soon. Before you get too excited: Nope, it’s not the newly unveiled Honor View 20 or V20. We’re talking about the Honor 10 Lite, which, as the name suggests, is a stripped-down version of the Kirin 970-based Honor 10.

This one’s a midrange offering, powered by a Kirin 710 chipset, the same processor you’ll find inside the Huawei Nova 3i. It has three available memory configurations — 4GB/64GB, 6GB/64GB, and 6GB/128GB — but we have no idea yet which variant the company is bringing to the country. Or if it will offer a version with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

But if there’s one thing that’s we’re placing our bets on, it’s that the Honor 10 Lite will be budget-friendly, considering that the Honor 10 is currently retailing at just P20,990 (roughly $396) in the Philippines. In China, the base model is priced at ¥1,399 (P10,696 or $203) while the higher-tiered ones go for ¥1,699 (P12,990 or $247) and ¥1,899 (P14,519 or $276), respectively. This should put the smartphone squarely in the categories where Honor 7X, 8X, and Play are.

The 10 Lite comes in black and white. There are also two gradient color variants — blue and red — and we admit that we’re partial to the former; we’re hoping it will be offered here.

The 6.21-inch screen features a small notch with a dewdrop design, and in the cutout is a 24-megapixel camera. The back sports a vertically aligned camera module not unlike that of the Huawei P20 Pro, but the sensors are 13 and 2 megapixels. You’ll also find a fingerprint reader on the rear.
