The Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Samsung Galaxy Note 9, and Apple iPhone XS arguably belong to the crop of handsets that has contributed greatly to blurring the line between a smartphone and a DSLR. They’re three of the best when it comes to taking pictures that wow, bar none.
The Mate 20 Pro, with its 40-megapixel wide camera being the focal point, combines four pixels into one for better quality. Huawei replaces the monochrome sensor that’s been a staple in the past with a more practical, ultra-wide one with 20 megapixels. The third is an 8-megapixel telephoto camera that’s capable of up to 3x lossless zoom. And on the front is a 24-megapixel shooter.

The system on the Galaxy Note 9, on the other hand, is the Galaxy S9+ model’s dual-aperture camera setup made smarter with the help of artificial intelligence. There are two 12-megapixel sensors with a variable aperture from f/2.4 to f/1.5. An 8-megapixel front camera with f/1.7 lens aperture takes care of selfies.
Meanwhile, the rear-camera module of the iPhone XS is composed of a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens with f/1.8 aperture and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture — with sensors that are bigger than the ones found on the iPhone X. Selfies are captured on a 7-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture.

This is by no means a scientific test or poll. However, we believe it will give you an idea of which camera phone you are really partial to when they’ve been stripped of their names.
