Watch out: Smartphones with two screens are upon us. Earlier this month, a report out of China had claimed that Vivo was working on a dual-screen phone, similar to the Nubia X, under its flagship NEX branding.

And now we have a couple of leaked images of the unnamed device courtesy of Chinese social-networking site Weibo. What’s more, the handset has been speculated to launch in December with the taglines “More than one side of the future” and “Extraordinary dual screen.”

In the leaked photos, seen at the top of this page, it’s clear that the smartphone shares the notch-less front panel of the Vivo NEX model pictured here.

In the pictures, seen at the top of this page, it’s clear that this smartphone shares the notch-less front panel of the Vivo NEX, though it’s difficult to tell if the display is actually bigger than the NEX’s 6.59-inch screen. The back-facing display has a 16:9 aspect ratio and looks pretty sizable as well, while still giving enough room to the dual-sensor (or triple-sensor?) camera on top and Vivo branding at the bottom.

We reckon that at least one of those sensors can take a selfie, just like on the Nubia X, which drops a dedicated front camera. Additionally, reports say the phone will come with 6.4 inches of OLED real estate on the front, along with support for 22.5-watt fast charging and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor.

The latter is worth noting because it suggests the device could indeed launch before the year ends, with handsets carrying Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8150 processor reportedly arriving in stores in early 2019. In case you’re not familiar with it, the Snapdragon 8150 is the successor to the Snapdragon 845.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 and other upcoming flagships scheduled to launch next year will most likely feature the Snapdragon 8150, so it would make sense for Vivo to launch any Snapdragon 845-based model, dual screens or not, sooner rather than later.
