Just a few days after it introduced the P13,999 (roughly $264) Y95 with sizeable screen and battery, Vivo Philippines has released another smartphone, but a cheaper one this time. This is the Vivo Y91, priced at P9,999 ($189).
Announcement of Vivo Y91 availability in the Philippines
Interestingly, the device is actually a toned-down version of the Vivo Y95. The two are similar in design, complete with a display that has a small notch. In fact, the Vivo Y91 is the manufacturer’s most affordable handset with a teeny-weeny cutout at the top of the front panel. In the Philippines, at least. Take note that the V11 and V11i are selling for P19,999 ($377) and P15,999 ($302), respectively.
The two smartphones likewise share many features, including the chip that they are using — the new Snapdragon 439 from Qualcomm.

How are they different then? While the Y95 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, the Vivo Y91 gets a 3GB/32GB memory configuration. And while the more expensive model features a 20-megapixel camera for selfies, the other unit’s front camera has a lower megapixel count — it’s 8 megapixels.
We wonder if this is Vivo’s last hurrah for the year. Guess we’ll have to wait for an announcement from the recently declared No. 3 smartphone vendor in the Philippines.
