It’s still six days away from the LG V40 ThinQ‘s October 3 launch, but the company is already showing it off in South Korea.
And as previous reports say, the smartphone has indeed five cameras: three on the back — similar to that on the Huawei P20 Pro and the Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS — and two on the front. This video embedded on a page in LG’s online newsroom confirms the camera setups.

Unfortunately, the video stopped short of revealing the specs of the LG V40 ThinQ’s cameras, though we are hoping that it retains the wide-angle lens that LG flagship devices have been known for.
No matter, at least we’ve got a confirmation of the phone’s design. The post on LG South Korea’s site says that the rear panel’s finish is silky matte, achieved by sandblasting the case. It’s not supposed to scratch or attract fingerprints and dust easily. It’s also described as sturdy yet soft to the touch. The metal frame on the LG V40 ThinQ’s side, on the other hand, is glossy.

The manufacturer discloses that the width of the V40 ThinQ is about the same as the LG V30. However, the bezels are thinner and the screen size is now 6.4 inches instead of 6 inches. Word has it that the display gets a notch, but there’s an option to hide it by tinting the status bar black in all applications and menus. The dual cameras above the screen will reportedly enable 3D facial recognition.
The LG V40 ThinQ is expected to use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and the company’s signature quad DAC to support high-end headphones.

According to LG, the V40 ThinQ will be available in New Platinum Gray, Carmine Red, and Morokan Blue.
Will the smartphone be released in the Philippines not long after the global launch? Or are we going to have to wait again for a long time? Of course, we’re hoping for the former.
