Vivo has gone beyond what’s expected of them lately. Early this year, it introduced the under-display fingerprint sensor on a smartphone, which has now found its way to a more affordable midrange V series phone, the Vivo V11, also known as the V11 Pro in India. In the Philippines, the P19,999 (roughly $371) device is already up for preorder until September 20.

What if the V11 is not quite within your budget? Fortunately, there’s a cheaper variant of the handset. The Vivo V11i, which will be available for purchase on September 21, is priced at just P15,999 ($297).

The V11i lacks the in-screen fingerprint scanner featured on its more expensive sibling; instead, it’s mounted on the back. But the smartphone looks similar to the V11 and offers the same stunning color choices: Starry Night, where black is paired with a blue-purple glittery gradient, and Nebula, where you can see a smooth transition from blue to purple at the base.
Of course, the specifications are watered down. The Vivo V11i’s Halo FullView Display (which is like the OPPO F9‘s) is a bit smaller at 6.3 inches and is of the IPS-LCD, not the steeper OLED, variety. The battery has a lower capacity at 3,315mAh, too. It’s powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of native memory instead of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chip mated to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
