If you think the Sunrise Red and Twilight Blue versions of the OPPO F9 look super flashy and cool, then you may want to wait for what is coming next week, when OPPO finally debuts the Starry Purple color version of its latest midrange phone in the Philippines.
The F9 variant that fades from light to dark purple with a glitter effect and gold accents will launch in the country on September 15. The official announcement will be held at the newly opened OPPO concept store at Glorietta 2 in Makati City.

Besides the new paint job — which looks mesmerizing and visually inventive, by the way — nothing else has been changed in the phone. It still runs a MediaTek Helio P60 processor with 6GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage under the hood.
The waterdrop-style notch above the screen remains, and the back of the OPPO F9 Starry Purple also gets two cameras and a fingerprint reader for fast and convenient unlocking.
OPPO‘s VOOC Flash Charge technology stays, and it brings our unit’s 3,500mAh battery from zero to 50-percent capacity in around 30 minutes, based on our testing.
Locally, the OPPO F9 is priced at P17,990 (around $335) SIM-free. Or you can get it through Smart Communications’ GigaX Plan 1299 data plan or Home Credit’s “0 percent interest for nine months” offer.
