As with the Vivo V9, fthe Vivo Z1 features a 6.2-inch touch display with a cutout or notch at the top and a 19:9 screen ratio.

On the inside, the phone shares most of its specifications with the flagship Vivo X21 and sees a Snapdragon 660 under the hood, along with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, expandable via a microSD card in a hybrid format. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo on a 3,260mAh battery.

The Vivo Z1 looks like the Vivo V9, but on the inside, the phone shares most of its specifications with the flagship Vivo X21.

For taking photos using the main camera, Vivo has opted for a 13-megapixel unit paired with a 2-megapixel, depth-sensing camera. As on other Vivo smartphones with two cameras side by side, these work together to produce portrait-style shots with a blurred background. The front camera that occupies the notch is 24 megapixels, as many as on the V9. Predictably, it doubles as a scanner to enable Vivo’s Face ID feature.

Vivo has yet to announce global rollout plans for the Z1, and those familiar with the company’s retail efforts in the Philippines are not sure if the phone will ever make its way to the local market. Hopefully, the door is still open for that possibility.
