Or the closest thing you’ll ever get to an all-screen smartphone. Yes, besides Lenovo, Vivo is also seemingly throwing its hat into the ring, delivering on its promise to make the Vivo APEX concept phone a reality. The company has already sent invites to a June 12, 2018, event in Shanghai, China. Take a look at the material below.
Recall that at MWC 2018, Vivo showcased a device that has a whopping 98 percent screen-to-body ratio — a feat achieved by using an under-display fingerprint sensor, a panel that serves as an earpiece and loudspeaker, and a pop-up front camera that stays hidden when not in use.

The Vivo APEX was supposed to be just a concept phone. However, the Chinese manufacturer eventually announced that it will mass-produce the handset. Now, based on the invite, it looks like we’ll finally see a ready-to-market version of the unit. We’re not sure if it will still be called APEX, though.

The Vivo phone will be joined by the Lenovo Z5, another device that is expected to have at least 95 percent screen-to-body ratio. The latter will be launched on June 14, two days after Vivo’s event.

So far, Lenovo vice-president Chang Cheng has teased renders of a mobile that does not follow the notch-design trend and sample photos taken with the Lenovo Z5. He also revealed that the battery life of the Z5 is crazy, as the product can last up to 45 days on standby.
With these developments from Vivo and Lenovo, it looks like June is shaping up to be another exciting month for smartphones.
