Until recently, Samsung’s edge-to-edge screen was reserved for their flagship devices. It found its way to the more affordable A models, with even the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ — launching in the Philippines on May 22 — getting it. Now, it has gone down even further to a cheaper series with the Galaxy J6.

The phone is set to go official in Europe on May 21 for around €250 (roughly P15,390) and in India on May 22 for ₹12,990 (P9,993) and ₹15,990 (P12,301) for the 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB variants, respectively. No word, though, if it will become available in the Philippines. The only J series handset that Samsung introduced in the country in 2018 thus far is the Galaxy J2 Pro (2018), which is priced at P7,490 ($143).

Word has it that the Samsung Galaxy J6 is powered by an Exynos 7870 octa-core processor. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung Experience skin layered on top, features Dolby Atmos audio, and offers face unlock as another security function besides a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Rounding out the leaked specs are the following: 5.6-inch screen, 3,000mAh battery, and 13- and 8-megapixel rear and front cameras.
