The Huawei Nova 2i, one of the better midrange phones out there, is now even more affordable in the Philippines, for good.
Huawei Philippines today dropped the price of the Nova 2i to P12,990 (roughly $248) from P13,990 ($267). Recall that it launched with a higher but still palatable price tag of P14,990 ($286) in October 2017.

The price drop makes an already fantastic choice — our top recommendation in the midrange last year even — more compelling. Though to be fair to other manufacturers like Xiaomi and OPPO, the Nova 2i has been joined by some serious competition since its local release in October 2017.

A key selling point is that it is one among a small number of phones with four cameras, as opposed to two or three, which is the norm for the industry these days. You’ll find two cameras on the back and two on the front. The main system has been outfitted with 16- and 2-megapixel sensors, while the setup for taking selfies sees a 13-megapixel camera complemented by a 2-megapixel one that captures depth information in Portrait mode.

The Nova 2i also gets an 18:9 display sized at 6 inches and running at full resolution. Fueling the device is Huawei’s own octa-core Kirin 659. The processor is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable memory. Rounding out the key specs are a 3,340mAh battery and Android Nougat, though the update to Android Oreo is already in the works.
