It looks like things are getting exciting once again for Lenovo as a smartphone brand.
Lenovo vice-president Chang Cheng has just teased their upcoming flagship on his Weibo account. And if the device in the image he posted — the one you see above — is an accurate render, we could be looking at a Vivo APEX competitor.

To refresh your memory, the MWC 2018-announced APEX boasts a crazy 98 percent screen-to-body ratio. Vivo was able to pull that off by opting for an under-display fingerprint sensor and a pop-up front camera that stays hidden when not in use. The handset, which used to be just a concept and not meant for a public release, will go on sale end-2018 or the early part of 2019.
The Lenovo phone might just have a higher screen-to-body ratio. Cheng has revealed that the number to watch for is more than 95 percent. The exact percentage will most likely be announced at the device’s June 14 launch. But even if it will be a bit lower, can we all agree that it’s still going to be awesome?
To put things into perspective, the Essential PH-1, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, the ASUS ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5Z, the Xiaomi Mi MIX, and the Apple iPhone X have the following respective screen-to-body ratios: 84.9 percent, 83.6 and 84.2 percent, 83.6 percent, (another) 83.6 percent, and 82.9 percent.

Less of the bezels and more of the display? That’s more ideal for watching videos and playing games.
How has Lenovo done that when it looks like the top of the smartphone’s front panel doesn’t have a notch? Probably because it will have a flip-up camera, just like the Vivo APEX’s. Better yet, it could feature an in-display fingerprint reader, too, although that could jack up the smartphone’s price.
