Alongside the ASUS ZenFone 5Z and ZenFone 5 hero phones, the Taiwanese manufacturer announced the new ZenFone 5Q for the Philippine market.

For the uninitiated, the ASUS ZenFone 5Q is a mid-tier option that is known as the ASUS ZenFone 5 Lite outside of the country. It will set its sights squarely on the OPPO F7, Vivo V9, and Huawei P20 Lite in the local smartphone space. Curiously, the said devices all sport notch displays, something this ZenFone (thankfully?) doesn’t have.
What it does have are four cameras that work independently from one another, hence ASUS’ claim that the ZenFone 5Q is the first true quad-camera phone on the market.

Whereas most multi-camera offerings include a secondary lens for taking portrait shots with a blurred background, the 5Q has wide-angle cameras on both sides, in addition to primary cameras with a higher megapixel count for regular photo and video work.

Switching over to the front panel, the phone is equipped with a 6-inch, 18:9 display that runs at 2,160 x 1,080. On the inside, you will find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM, while a 3,300mAh battery keeps the lights on. To complete the specs, the ZenFone 5Q ships with a custom interface based on Android 8.0 Oreo.
The ASUS ZenFone 5Q is now available in the Philippines for a suggested retail price of P16,995 (around $327).
