The Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo has been the subject of leaks lately. But today, many of those speculations seem to have been answered by Samsung itself, as the page for the Galaxy J7 Duo on the tech giant’s Indian website has gone live.
(Update, April 12: Samsung has announced that the Galaxy J7 Duo will be available in India in black and gold starting today for a suggested retail price of ₹16,990, or roughly P13,553 in Philippine pesos or $261 in U.S. dollars. The full specs can be found at the bottom of the article. We’ve updated the title to reflect this development.)
The listing confirms the handset design that was shown in a leaked render and user manual earlier. There’s a front-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm earphone jack, and a dual-rear-camera setup placed vertically at the upper center of the back panel.
The site shows that the back camera system of the Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo combines 13- and 5-megapixel sensors that each boasts an f/1.9 aperture. Together, they should be able to capture Live Focus bokeh shots. It is possible to adjust the level of the photos’ background blur and shape. An 8-megapixel shooter, on the other hand, will take care of selfies.

Underneath the hood is a still-unknown octa-core processor running at 1.6GHz, although benchmarking site Geekbench reveals that the smartphone uses an Exynos 7885 processor.
The Indian Samsung site, however, stopped short of disclosing the Galaxy J7 Duo’s screen, memory configuration, and battery.

Fortunately, a picture from a sales training session sent to technology site GSMArena shows that the device will have a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1,280 x 720 resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. And it will supposedly come with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which is expandable using a microSD card up to 256GB. There’s a removable 3,000mAh battery as well.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo is speculated to be announced in India first. As to when, we don’t know. But if we are to go by what’s written on the screen of the phone’s render on the Korean manufacturer’s Indian website, this J7 will probably become official on Monday, April 23.
Will it be released in the Philippines? If yes, will it still be known as the Galaxy J7 Duo, or will Samsung change the name? This is turning out to be a guessing game.
