Two new and unannounced Samsung phones have been spotted on the Geekbench website. They are believed to be the Samsung Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+.
It’s said that the A6 has the model number SM-A600FN, while the Plus variant will use SM-A605G to identify itself. Things could change, of course. But right now, these model numbers are the only pieces of information that can be tied to the phones.

Not much is revealed by the screen grabs, but their chipsets and RAM allocation are on display for us to see and have a conversation about. Based on these images, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy A6 will arrive with an octa-core Exynos 7870 processor operating at 1.59GHz and paired with 3GB of RAM.
For those not familiar with the company’s recent smartphone arsenal, the Exynos 7870 was last seen inside the Galaxy J7 Pro. It sold for P15,990 (around $307) in the Philippines at launch. That device was fitted with 3GB of RAM, too.

The Samsung Galaxy A6+, on the other hand, could pair a mid-market Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 with 4GB of RAM. It might end up being one of the rare instances where a midrange Samsung phone is built around a Qualcomm chip, as opposed to the company’s Exynos platform.
It looks like the Samsung Galaxy A6 will arrive with an Exynos 7870, the same processor seen inside the Galaxy J7 Pro. The Galaxy A6+, on the other hand, might use a Snapdragon 625 — one of the rare instances where a midrange Samsung phone is built around a Qualcomm chip.
Both the 7870 and Snapdragon 625 are manufactured on a 14nm process, so expect good battery life out of these two handsets. According to Geekbench, both are neck-and-neck in synthetic performance. Another detail not to be skimmed over: The Galaxy A6 and A6+ will supposedly ship with Android 8.0 Oreo. That bodes well for prospective buyers.

Along with some other key specs, the display sizes and resolutions of the phones remain a mystery. But looking at the current landscape where almost every new smartphone announcement mentions the 18:9 (or taller) aspect ratio, we think it’s fair to assume that the Samsung Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ will join the trend of tall-screened handsets.
