Where are all the Philippine-based Xiaomi homies at? Gather around, we’ve got two good news for you.
First, Xiaomi executives from the mothership will be here for the official Xiaomi Philippines launch. Or the official announcement of its return rather. If you recall, the world’s fastest-growing smartphone company entered the Philippines in 2014, but quietly left a little over a year after. The focus on ecommerce, a concept that was still relatively new in the country at the time, may have something to do with it.

Second, there is already a final date for the opening of the flagship store at SM Megamall. We went there on March 2 to see how the construction was going. Watch the video we took below, and you’d see that it was far from finished.

Because of that, we had thought that the flagship-shop opening might happen end-March. We were wrong. According to our contact at Xiaomi, the launch of the second Mi Authorized Store in the Philippines is set for March 17. That’s juts nine days away from today, so you won’t have to wait long.
