Apple iPhone X clones are already trickling into the global smartphone market. In the Philippines, there’s already the Vinovo K1, which is priced at only P2,999 or roughly $60.
Now, there’s the Oukitel U18. It looks much like the 10th-anniversary iPhone, complete with a notch up top. However, its screen is bigger and taller at 5.85 inches with a — get this — 21:9 aspect ratio, a format designed to display CinemaScope (2.35:1) or anamorphic (2.39:1) films.
Thing is, most of the content for mobile devices are made for those with 16:9 panels, so you can’t take advantage of the ultra-wide screen that much. Plus, it has a resolution of only 1,512 x 720; watching content in full resolution or better on the handset is out of the question.

You may also want to take note that the Oukitel U18 is powered by MediaTek’s MT6750T, a processor that — based on our experience — heats up easily and does not deliver good gaming performance. If you do not do many demanding tasks on your smartphone, then this should probably be okay with you.

Other specs include 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal memory, Android 7.0 Nougat, and a 4,000mAh battery. On the back is a dual 16MP + 5MP camera supplied by Sony. For selfies, there’s a 13-megapixel front camera by Omnivision. You can see the full specs by clicking on this.
Only 999 units of the Oukitel U18 are initially up for grabs. You may already order one online for $179.99 (P9,257), but if you do so by February 7, you can get the device for just $159.99 (P8,227).
