The Sony Xperia XA1 is one of our favorite midrangers from this year. But if you want more screen space and the convenience of fingerprint unlocking, consider its larger stablemate, the Sony Xperia XA1 Plus.
It will be available in the Philippines through Sony’s official retail partners nationwide from November 10 for P16,990 or roughly $331. Which is surprisingly agreeable, considering the Japanese firm’s rich history of overshooting the price of their smartphones at launch.

This is, of course, a welcome development; consumers win when a competent Xperia phone goes neck and neck with its Chinese rivals.
As for internal hardware, expect an octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 processor — the same fast and efficient processor inside the Xperia XA1 — paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. There’s a dedicated slot for an SD card, so you won’t have to compromise on the functionality of that extra SIM slot.
