(Update, October 9: And it’s officially launched! Everything we wrote here yesterday is correct. You may also want to check out this related article: Samsung Galaxy J7+, J7 Pro, and J7 Core specs and price comparison.)
We saw the Argomall post below, and true enough, the Galaxy J7+ is listed as “in stock” on the local online store. The phone is pegged at P19,990 or about $391, though Samsung has yet to confirm pricing and availability.
If it indeed retails for that amount, do note that the Galaxy A5 (2017) is also priced at just under P20,000, leaving customers to decide between the A5’s water resistance and glass housing or the J7+’s dual-camera system and aluminum body. Choices, choices.

The Samsung Galaxy J7+ sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED running at full resolution, which is unsurprising. Heck, even the P9,990 ($195) Galaxy J7 Core has an OLED panel. What’s surprising, however, is the MediaTek Helio P20 under the hood, so to speak.

It’s been a while since we saw a Samsung phone built around a MediaTek chip. We don’t remember seeing one in the midrange. How that will play out is unclear, but the P20 is a pretty good processor, so it shouldn’t be an issue. Plus, the 4GB of RAM should be plenty for multitasking.

About the dual cameras on the back: The 13-megapixel rear camera is behind an f/1.7 aperture lens, whereas the 5-megapixel shooter uses an f/1.9 lens and provides depth information for bokeh-style images and adjusting the focus after the fact. The selfie camera is sharp at 16 megapixels.
We’ll be attending Samsung’s local launch event tomorrow afternoon, so check back for updates.
