HONOR Philippines strengthens its presence in the budget market with today’s launch of what it bills as its most affordable smartphone lineup yet, aiming squarely at users who need the basics without breaking the bank.

Leading the charge is the aggressively priced HONOR X5b, hitting the market as a Lazada exclusive. For a limited time, during the Lazada 4.4 Summer SuliTipid Sale happening from 8 p.m. on April 3 until the 6th, you can purchase it for a special price of just P3,499 (roughly $61) — down from P4,199 ($74) — via the brand’s official store on the platform. That’s entering serious entry-level territory.

Its slightly beefier sibling, the HONOR X5b Plus, comes in at P4,999 ($87). Unlike the base model’s online exclusivity, this Plus version offers wider availability — you can grab it from Lazada, HONOR Experience Stores, or authorized partner retailers nationwide.

Time to ‘add to cart’?

What are you getting at these price points? The HONOR X5b and HONOR X5b Plus are built around the same core specs: a 6.56-inch HD+ TFT LCD screen with a modest waterdrop notch and a surprisingly smooth 90Hz refresh rate for this segment. Running the show is a MediaTek Helio G36 processor, which is geared towards everyday tasks like casual browsing and social media use. You also get a sizable 5,200mAh battery with 10-watt charging and Android 14 skinned with MagicOS 8.0 out of the box. A 5-megapixel shooter handles selfie duties on both.

The main differentiators lie in the rear cameras and storage. The standard X5b keeps things simple with a 13-megapixel main sensor paired with an auxiliary camera and comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The Plus variant, on the other hand, bumps the primary cam significantly to a 50-megapixel sensor, also with an AI lens, promising sharper shots. It keeps the same 4GB of RAM but doubles the internal storage to 128GB to offer more breathing room for apps and media.

HONOR Philippines vice president Stephen Cheng previously said that “we’re thrilled to partner with Lazada for the first time to bring a device that combines style, reliability, and advanced features. The HONOR X5b is designed to meet the everyday needs of Filipino consumers.”

If you’re hunting for a basic Android experience with a big battery and don’t mind entry-level performance, the company’s X5b series is now officially on the table. The sub-P3,500 ($61) price tag on the Lazada-exclusive HONOR X5b, in particular, is bound to turn some heads.
