ZTE has officially launched the nubia Neo 3 5G and nubia Neo 3 GT 5G in the Philippines, but the company also slipped in a surprise: the RedMagic 10 Pro gaming phone.

For those eyeing serious mobile gaming, this particular RedMagic model enters the Philippine market with a starting price of P49,999, or roughly $871 converted, for the 12GB/256GB variant. The beefier 16GB/512GB model will set you back P59,999 ($1,046). This puts it in direct competition with the ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro, which, while similarly specced, includes the AeroActive Cooler X Pro with an integrated subwoofer — a notable value-add.

For those prioritizing raw Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite performance, the recently launched POCO F7 Ultra emerges as a strong contender. Priced at a notably more accessible P39,999 ($697) for the top-tier 16GB/512GB variant, it also boasts a robust software support promise — four major OS updates and six years of security patches.

The RedMagic 10 Pro, initially unveiled late last year, continues ZTE’s tradition of aggressive gaming aesthetics. Unlike ASUS’s more subdued approach with the ROG Phone 9 Pro, the company has doubled down on its signature design, complete with the familiar RGB-lit fan. Our brief hands-on at MWC 2025 in Barcelona, Spain, revealed no significant ergonomic improvements.

Naturally, cooling remains the RedMagic 10 Pro’s standout feature. The ICE X Cooling System — featuring a high-RPM fan, liquid-metal tech, an upgraded vapor chamber, and graphene layers — promises to keep thermals in check during intense gaming sessions. Dual vents facilitate heat dissipation.

The battery is another significant highlight, with the RedMagic 10 Pro packing a whopping 7,050mAh cell inside. It’s a lot of juice, and the battery should easily last you days under typical usage scenarios. It’s also coupled with 100-watt fast charging, so top-ups should be quick when that massive battery finally does run dry.

The question is this: Does the RedMagic 10 Pro’s raw power and cooling prowess justify its premium price tag in the Philippines? Or does the value proposition of the POCO F7 Ultra, or the bundled accessories of the ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro, sway you? Let us know your thoughts.
