POCO just threw a curveball into the smartphone arena with the global launch of its latest flagship series, which consists of the POCO F7 Ultra (you can check out our review here!) and POCO F7 Pro.
As expected, the lineup is headlined by the Ultra model, a device that’s not just powerful, but aggressively priced. In fact, it has debuted as the most affordable Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite phone in the Philippines. With early-bird pricing starting at a jaw-dropping P34,999 (roughly $609) for the 12GB/256GB version, it’s undercutting competitors by a significant margin. The Pro edition, on the other hand, rocks a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and costs from an equally compelling P24,099 ($420) for early adopters. What the POCO F7 series offers
Let’s dive into the guts of the new smartphones. The POCO F7 Ultra is a spec-sheet monster, built around the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Elite. We’re talking substantial gains here: a claimed 45% jump in CPU performance and a 44% boost to the GPU, all while somehow sipping less power. And POCO, for the first time, threw in a dedicated graphics chip — the VisionBoost D7 — unlocking features like 120Hz gaming at 2K resolution and enhanced video playback. Xiaomi HyperOS 2 and WildBoost Optimization 4.0 round out the performance package. The POCO F7 Pro, while rocking a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, gets the same software love. Both phones also get LiquidCool Technology 4.0 to keep things from becoming a hotplate.
In the battery department, the Ultra edition packs a 5,300mAh cell with 120-watt wired and 50-watt wireless charging, promising a full top-up in just 34 minutes. The Pro opts for a beefier 6,000mAh battery and 90-watt wired charging. Both use POCO’s in-house Surge P3 and G1 chipsets, which are designed to optimize charging and extend battery longevity.

The series’ highlights
Then there’s the camera system. The Xiaomi sub-brand is heavily emphasizing the F7 Ultra’s camera capabilities, particularly the unit’s triple-lens arrangement. A 50-megapixel main sensor, a dedicated telephoto lens, and a high-resolution ultrawide cover a wide range of shooting scenarios. And POCO’s AI image processing, or AISP, is supposed to be doing some heavy lifting, enabling functions like 20x UltraZoom Beta and UltraSnap. The F7 Pro likewise gets a 50-megapixel main camera and an ultrawide, with similar AI enhancements.
Visually, both devices aim for a premium vibe, with bright, eye-friendly displays that hit up to 3,200 nits peak brightness. The company has also packed in Circular Polarization and high-frequency PWM dimming for eye comfort. The design features a gloss-matte glass back, a metal frame, and IP68 water and dust resistance. The POCO F7 Ultra gets an extra layer of protection with POCO Shield Glass.
Basically, POCO is throwing everything but the kitchen sink into these devices, and it’s doing it at prices that undercut the competition.
