Our unboxing video of the POCO F7 Ultra

The POCO F7 Ultra and POCO F7 Pro will make their international debuts on March 27. It will mark the first time the Xiaomi sub-brand is unleashing an Ultra-branded smartphone into its lineup. A teaser image has already given you a sneak peek at both contenders, along with a tagline that screams power: “Ultrapower Unleashed.” Above, you can also check out our unboxing of the Ultra edition.

Interestingly, there’s no sign of a vanilla F7, but rumors suggest it might pop up in other markets down the line. Well, maybe not in the Philippines. The good news is that based on the online listings we reported on earlier this week, both the POCO F7 Ultra and POCO F7 Pro are highly likely headed to Philippine shores.

POCO F7 Ultra and POCO F7 Pro launch announcement

As for the specs, the rumor mill has been churning for weeks, and they’re pretty much an open secret now: The POCO F7 Pro is expected to be a familiar face — essentially a rebranded Redmi K80 — while the Ultra version is shaping up to be the global version of the Redmi K80 Pro.

However, it’s not a straight-up copy-paste situation. Both POCO contenders are expected to pack slightly smaller batteries compared to their Redmi cousins. On the flip side, selfie enthusiasts might have a reason to cheer, as the top-end F7 Ultra is tipped to boast a superior front-facing camera than the K80 Pro. We’ll have all the answers — and more — once the embargo lifts.

Needless to say, we’re hyped to see what these new flagships bring to the table. Stay tuned for our full coverage from Singapore next week!
