The stage is set for the highly anticipated Xiaomi 15 Ultra to make its grand entrance in China this week.
(Update, February 28: The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is official!)
Mark your calendars for February 27, because Xiaomi will debut its flagship smartphone alongside the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra EV in the country. As we reported earlier, the upcoming Ultra mobile device is already up for blind preorders for Chinese customers, so expect it to be released right after the unveiling.
The timing is strategic, building excitement just ahead of the March 2 global launch at MWC 2025 in Barcelona, Spain. The company’s keynote promises to be packed with not only the Xiaomi 15 Ultra but also the Xiaomi 15, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, and an array of Xiaomi AIoT devices, including new TWS earbuds, a smartwatch, and an electric scooter. It should be a showcase of the brand’s diverse tech ecosystem.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has already shared official images of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra in black and white options. These are in addition to the classic black-silver variant reminiscent of cameras from Leica, the German optics manufacturer Xiaomi has partnered with since 2022.
The classic camera-inspired design is quite eye-catching, but for those who prefer something sleek and understated, #Xiaomi15Ultra also comes in black and white. Which one will you choose? pic.twitter.com/KPxdZZ3WUs

Early look at all three color variants
Expect the company’s most premium phone to pack Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 5G chipset, a 6,000mAh battery that supports 90-watt wired and 50-watt wireless charging, and a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with adaptive refresh rates ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz, all protected by Xiaomi Shield Glass 2.0.
Running on Android 15 with HyperOS 2.0, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra reportedly offers an in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, dual SIM-card slots, and a Type-C USB 3.2 Gen 2 port. Throw IP68 certification for water and dust resistance into the mix as well.
What should make the top-tier model truly stand out, of course, is its camera setup, which is said to include a 50-megapixel main shooter with a large 1-inch type sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 50-megapixel short-range telephoto lens, and a staggering 200-megapixel long-range periscope. This diverse camera array positions the Xiaomi 15 Ultra as a powerhouse for photography and videography, appealing to both casual users and professionals.
In the Philippines, it’s still uncertain if Xiaomi will release the yet-to-be-launched Ultra. Based on its strategy last year, though, we advise you not to hold your breath for it.
