Huawei‘s been making waves in the tablet space recently, but its newest release looks set to really shake things up.
The new Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2-inch 2025 is here, and it’s not just another slab of glass. This one’s positioned as a true laptop replacement, promising a desktop experience in tablet form.
Preorders kick off tomorrow, February 28, in the Philippines. The lone 12GB/512GB version we tested is going to set you back a cool P64,999 (around $1,120 converted), although HUAWEI will be throwing in a tempting bundle worth P41,895 ($722) to sweeten the deal. This includes a Magnetic Keyboard case that supports NearLink technology for seamless pairing and a 3rd Gen M-Pencil stylus. The latter, also NearLink-enabled, boasts over 10,000 pressure levels to deliver a more pen-on-paper experience and better accuracy when writing or sketching.

After almost a month with the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2-inch 2025, we’ve got some thoughts — and you can catch them in the video above. Spoiler: Huawei’s clearly taken notes on what makes a tablet actually useful for serious work.
Productivity is the name of the game here. The keyboard, with its generous trackpad and gesture support, feels like a real step up. But the real kicker is that the company’s preloading a full-fledged, desktop-grade WPS Office suite. We’re talking tabs, toolbars, the works — not the usual stripped-down mobile app. Plus, it plays nice with Office365, wireless printing, and cloud syncing. And if you’re dealing with PDFs on the go, the Notes app lets you sign and annotate with ease using the M-Pencil.
Another highlight is the screen. This device boasts the industry’s first flexible OLED PaperMatte display, which promises better clarity, especially when reading text, and richer, more immersive visuals. Not to mention, the anti-glare coating minimizes almost all environmental light and removes pesky reflections, resulting in greater outdoor visibility.
The question, of course, is whether all these specs and features add up to a productivity machine. Can a tablet, even one this specced out, really handle the demands of serious work? Again, hit play on the video above for our verdict.
