Samsung, never one to shy away from the spotlight, has locked in its first major event of the year.

The South Korean technology giant today announced that the 2025 Galaxy Unpacked event will happen on January 22 in San Jose, California — or January 23 at 2 a.m. for those in the Philippines.

Samsung made the announcement during CES 2025, and while the company doesn’t mention devices by name, it does confirm that the Galaxy S series will make an appearance at its early Galaxy Unpacked event. According to the press release sent to us, Samsung will “unveil a new chapter in mobile AI” as well, suggesting the event will focus heavily on the evolution of Galaxy AI, which launched alongside last year’s Galaxy S24 lineup.

The launch will be streamed live at samsung.com and on Samsung’s Newsroom page and YouTube channel. The brand also put out a small teaser video about the event, which you can see below. It appears to show the corners of four phones touching each other, potentially hinting at the Samsung Galaxy S25, Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra — and the long-rumored Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim. The latter, as its name implies, will have a slim form factor.

A South Korean publication reports that the Galaxy S25 Slim could boast a profile of around 6.6mm. For context, that’s thinner than even the Galaxy S6 from 2015, which clocked in at 6.8mm. The apparent goal? To go toe to toe with Apple’s rumored iPhone 17 Air.

Ahead of this year’s January Unpacked event, Samsung is offering customers in the Philippines a P5,000 (around $86) credit toward the latest Galaxy device during preorders on Lazada, Shopee, and the company’s own online store.

For context, the Galaxy S24 series landed in the Philippines last year with a starting price of P53,990 ($929) for the base model, climbing to a hefty P84,990 ($1,462) for the top-tier Galaxy S24 Ultra.
