Lenovo‘s latest handheld gaming PC, the Legion Go S, is making its way to the Philippines. The device, which was first announced at CES 2025, is a more portable version of the original Legion Go.
Local preorders for the Lenovo Legion Go S have kicked off and will run until January 31. It has a suggested retail price of P44,995 (roughly $766) for the Windows 11-based Glacier White variant with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of M.2 2280 SSD storage.
The first 30 customers to reserve their units at the following participating Legion Exclusive Store branches will receive a free Legion Go USB-C Dock worth P3,699 ($63): SM North EDSA, SM Megamall, SM Makati, SM City Bacoor, SM City Clark, and Gaisano Mall of Davao. Just pay a 30% deposit to qualify for the promo.
The Lenovo Legion Go S features a lighter, more ergonomic design than its predecessor, forgoing the detachable controllers and kickstand in favor of enhanced portability and comfort. It is powered by the AMD Ryzen Z2 Go chip, a Lenovo-exclusive processor designed for efficiency and performance. While the Z2 Go has fewer CPU cores than the standard Z1 and uses the older RDNA 2 architecture, it boasts 12 graphics cores, surpassing both the Z1 and the Steam Deck in graphical capability.
Lenovo’s latest gaming handheld is equipped with an 8-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200. Although it lacks the 2,560 x 1,600 resolution and 144Hz refresh rate of the Legion Go, it offers a 120Hz variable refresh rate, a feature rarely found in handhelds.
Perhaps more interestingly, Lenovo is launching a SteamOS version of the Legion Go S this May. This is the first time a company other than Valve will sell a handheld gaming PC that comes with SteamOS already installed. SteamOS is known for making PC games run smoothly on handheld devices. This could be a big deal for the industry, as it gives gamers a real alternative to Windows-based handhelds.
