Tesla officially rolls into PH, bringing lower prices, Supercharging speeds

Elon Musk’s electric-vehicle juggernaut has officially arrived in the Philippines, and it’s bringing its Supercharger network with it.

The first indoor Supercharger station in the country has opened its doors at Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. Juice up your Model 3 RWD for just P19 (around $0.33) per kilowatt-hour. Do the math, and that’s about P1,140 ($20) for a full charge. Compare that to the sting of filling up your gasoline car these days, and the appeal of going electric becomes crystal clear. And don’t worry, Tesla says more charging stations are on the way across the country.

The first Philippine showroom has likewise opened at Uptown Parade. Initially, it will be offering the more budget-friendly (relatively speaking, of course) Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model Y, each with the choice of RWD, Long Range, and Performance variants. The entry-level Model 3 RWD starts at P2,109,000 ($36,106) and boasts a respectable 513km range, while the more spacious and family-friendly Model Y RWD will set you back P2,369,000 ($40,557). These EVs are likely rolling straight off Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory.

Those official prices absolutely blow the local gray market. We did some digging and found that you’d have to shell out around P3,100,000 ($53,079) for a base Model 3 from a third-party importer.

Of course, Tesla wouldn’t be Tesla without a little customization. Expect the price to fluctuate depending on your chosen wheel design, exterior and interior colors, and Autopilot packages. Every Tesla comes standard with basic Autopilot, which includes handy features like Autosteer and traffic-aware cruise control. But for the true Tesla experience, you’ll want to upgrade to Full Self-Driving Capability. Just be prepared to add P394,000 ($6,746) to the price of your Model 3 RWD.

You can visit Tesla’s official website (yes, the Philippines is now officially on the map) to order and configure your car. But before you get too click-happy, take note that you’ll need to place a non-refundable P15,000 ($257) deposit to secure your order.

With Tesla officially setting up shop in the Philippines, you get the real deal: genuine vehicles, factory-backed warranties, and the peace of mind that comes with buying direct. So whether you’re ready to ditch gas today or just curious about electric cars, the company’s arrival is a massive win for Filipino car buyers and a huge leap forward for sustainable driving in the Philippines.

Welcome to the Philippines, Tesla
